Sainthood Reps has signed to Tooth & Nail Records. Here's a little introductory video I made for the label.

Uganda Skateboarding Union
Not too into skateboarding myself, but having two roommates that are, I keep distantly connected to the culture. Needless to say, this is a great cause:

Epic(ly Nerdy)
Cedric Delsaux's "The Dark Lens (Star Wars)", both epic and nerdy. Not sure of the process that went into them, but it looks pretty amazing. A post-apocalyptic Earth wherein Star Wars characters roam the streets.

Little People
This is sort of old news, but I re-visited this site after a classmate of mine began a similar project. These hand painted scenes were first left all over London, but that has now stretched to other European countries as well. He is now showing in galleries, and has a book published with these scenes.

Marina Abramovic

If you haven't already seen it, there's a big retrospective of Marina Abramovic's work currently at MoMA, entitled "The Artist Is Present". Skip over the Tim Burton exhibit, because this is way more important and powerful, as Abramovic is a legend in performace art. Within the exhibit are several recreations of some of her performance work over her career, as well as videos projected on walls of some of the original performances. One of the pieces, entitled "Imponderabilia", involves two people standing nude within a doorway, forcing people to squeeze between their bodies. Many people have raised questions regarding the piece, as they do not know exactly what it is... Originally performed with her partner Ulay in 1977, the version of "Imponderabilia" at the MoMA is a recreation of that piece, seen here:
Another huge part of the retrospective is Abramovic's continuous performance of a new piece that requires audience participation, as she invites guests to sit across a table from her in complete silence. (During museum hours, you can view a live feed of these goings-ons here). I have yet to do it, as my last trip to the MoMA I found myself feeling under dressed to sit across from a legend, as odd as that may sound.
So, go!

Damn, M.I.A.
M.I.A.'s new video, is, in a word, epic. This is the uncut and extended version of the song, most likely to fit the length of the video. As usual, she's keeping it political, addressing the violence and discrimination of the police force.

San Paolo Storm Drain Graffiti!
Created by art duo 6EMEIA, these storm drains were painted in the Barra Funda neighborhood in San Paolo, Brazil. Seems as if it's being embraced by the local people as well as the local police. Here's what 6EMEIA has to say...
“With the painted storm drains, a new type of communication is proposed between art and the city as well as between art and the residents. Art then becomes within the reach and at the service of everyone. By looking with care at the most forgotten and indifferent objects, one can take in art in a new way. The painted storm drains are like colorful drops falling into an immense ash-colored canvass.”
A few samples:

Picasso circa 1949
This is absolutely amazing. LIFE magazine worked on an article on Picasso in the late 40's, working with a photographer known for his experiments with light and long exposures. The result is pretty stunning, with the creation of one of a kind, though fleeting, works by the great artist.
Sure to amaze and inspire.

U.S. Soccer
A valiant run by my U.S. boys, I'm incredibly pleased with their progress. They looked sharp v. Egypt, and great until the second half v. Brazil. Hopefully the rust continues to break off Altidore, as he began to play rather brilliantly as the Cup progressed. Dempsey had an amazing showing as well, but the play was still sloppy and not aggressive enough for the forwards.
Step up boys!! It's your time to shine.

Not My Floor, Not My Problem.
The story behind this is that the creator of the video locked his acid-tripping friend into a dark closet, than proceeded to record the conversations he had with himself. Next, some sort of genius created an animated video to go along with his comments. This is a bit old, but if you haven't seen it, you will love it, guaranteed.
